A Brief Introduction of 2.92mm & 2.4mm RF Connector
A brief introduction of 2.92 mm & 2.4 mm RF Connector
2.4 mm connector was developed by Keysight Technologies in the 1980s, this connector is working up to 50 GHz,
2.92 mm connector was developed by Anritsu on the same time and with the max frequency 40 GHz, to meet to 5G application, Rosenberger extended the frequency ranges up to 43.5 GHz. 2.92mm connector also known as K connector or SMK connector.
To identify 2.4mm and 2.92mm Male connector, a groove will be added on the 2.4 mm.
Both 2.92mm & 2.4mm have a VSWR @ 1.25 up to 40 / 50 GHz, however, 2.4mm connector is much expensive for 2.92mm connector, with the extended 43.5 GHz frequency ranges, 2.92 mm will have more spot light on the 5G application.
These connectors are ideal for test and instrumentation, semiconductor test boards, high speed digital and satellite/ wireless communication applications.
