Through Hole Mount:
Through Hole Mount has less requirement on the leg length and leg tolerence, you can also customize the leg length and led diameter with your connector maufacturer based on your PCB board thickness. The through hole design is also easier for identification of cold solder joint.
Surface Mount:
Surface Mount is normally used on PCB which has combact design requirement, RF Connector solder led and solder pin won't go through the PCB, so it won't waste the equipment space. This mount type is normally be seen on small dimension interface such as MCX, MMCX, SMP, MMBX, and of course, SMA, the one of most popular RF Connector interface. Surface Mount type have a high requirement on the leg length tolerance, normally lower than ±0.05mm.

Board Edge/End Launch Mount Connector has minimize reflection compared to vertical mount connector, and typically used on high frequency connector & high performance requirement circustance.
